Lexington, KY (Rupp Arena)
Lexington, Kentucky. Home of the Kentucky Wildcats and some old timey basketball. What else could you want?

1. Ohio State vs 16. CCSU
The year of Mike Conley and Greg Oden at Ohio State. Surely this was not going to be the 16 over 1 that everybody hopes and dreams about. Yawn. Buckeyes roll 78-57.
8. BYU vs 9. Xavier
This could be where the disdain the trip collective has for BYU became what we all know it as today. Xavier is a trip favorite because they are a dynasty. Glad to see them knock off BYU. Drew Lavender at his best. Xavier wins 79-77 in a close one.
6. Louisville vs 11. Stanford
Wow. Pseudo home game for the ‘ville and all of their fans with giant hats. Stanford should not have gotten into the tourney and Louisville rolls hard with Edgar Sosa becoming next years player to watch (but we all know now that did not happen). Brutal game to watch with all the Cardinal fans in the stands, Louisville being a few short hours from Lexington. It was kind of a sham to see Rupp Arena provide Louisville with a home crowd advantage. Louisville rolls hard 78-58 and it wasn’t even THAT close.
3. Texas A&M vs 14. Pennsylvania
A great chance to see either an upset, or a great college basketball player in Acie Law III. Texas A&M had their yell squad there and their fans were the best most trained cheer people ever. Penn kept it close with solid play from their starting guards, even having the lead half way through the second half. In the end, the Aggies were too much, winning 68-52.
Some off the off day / off game highlights include Chet having his picture posted to the wall of a Buffalo Wild Wings after beasting 12 wings in record time, even with some wrong guy in his face the whole time. Jimmy and Sam messed around with some news reporter lady talking about skipping work. Our hearts went out to Jimmy when even with his Jamison consumption, the fall of the Irish could not be stopped to an upstart Winthrop team. 4 of the 5 members of the trip also partaked in the greatness that is Sonic for the first time. We also did it up right with a shot of Johnny Walker Blue out of coffee mugs to start things off once we all got into town.
1. Ohio State vs 9. Xavier
X was up for the fight, surely. What a great game coming in. You’re in Rupp Arena. Number one seeded Ohio State with all the pagentry and hype. Then there is Xavier, who had recently given up its coach to Ohio State to repalce him with Sean Miller, who in his own right is a great coach as well. In the end, this game turned into a giant crapfest. Xavier led for most of the second half, at one point up 9 points. In the end, Greg Oden was allowed to get away with a brutal offensive foul coming down the stretch to send the game into overtime, and Xavier’s collective spirit down the toilet. It was over before OT started. Ohio State wins 78-71. Truly brutal.
3. Texas A&M vs 6. Louisville
Awesome game to be at. Game goes back and forth the whole time. Edgar Sosa went off for 31 (about half at the FT line) and Acie Law goes for 26 (again, half at the FT line). Who do you root for when a 3 seed is in a building full of 6 seed fans? The 3 seed, as much as we love the Big East. Aggies Win 72-69.
